The NSDC Institutional Chapter at Stony Brook University was built to foster and create a great community of future data scientists and analysts in this respected and esteemed institution. Students of Stony Brook University are welcome to join this Chapter. To join an NSDC Chapter at another Institution (university or college), or to join a Regional Chapter (Midwest, Northeast, South, or West), visit the Chapter Central website.
Chapter Activities & Projects
This Chapter plans to collaborate with other chapters/clubs to create workshops and seminars on Python, R and SQL, which are all languages heavily used in this community. We also want to show the diversity and vast careers that the field of data science has to offer, so we will also collaborate with chapters/clubs associated with Economics, Engineering, Political Science, Psychology, Environmental Studies and Business.
We plan on having guest speakers such as speakers affiliated with the NSDC, Stony Brook Alumni, and Esteemed professors to share their experience in research or in the job force to prospective students who want to pursue this career.
