Women in STEM – Overcome the Barriers and Reach for the Stars!

Join Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub Executive Director, Florence Hudson, in a conversation about women’s career trajectories in STEM at the NSF INCLUDES National Network Virtual Convening 2021.

Women and girls are often dissuaded from pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Math  (STEM) education and careers by their family, fellow students, teachers, and eventually themselves. We have the power to inspire young ladies, girls and women to reach for the stars in STEM. Through powerful personal stories, presentation of career and life challenges and accomplishments, key learnings from getting over the speed bumps in life, and sharing of techniques to plan their life to achieve their purpose, this presentation will provide valuable lessons and tools to motivate women and girls to pursue success in STEM education and careers. Through tools and techniques to recognize and address unconscious bias, systemic opportunities for improvement to broaden participation in STEM will also be discussed. Participants will feel inspired, excited, and will be ready to reach for the stars!

Registration is now open to attend this virtual conference, scheduled for August 10-12th.
