ADSA BoF: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – The Path Forward in Data Science
The Academic Data Science Alliance (ADSA) has begun a concerted effort to increase awareness and make individual and combined efforts to address racism, lack of inclusivity, and pro-active outreach to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive data science community. Join this Birds of a Feather discussion, part of the 2020 ADSA Annual Meeting, to brainstorm together what steps we can take to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in participation in the data science community as well as the ethics of data science and its application to solving scientific and societal challenges today and into the future. NEBDIH’s Executive Director Florence Hudson and Principal Investigator Jeannette Wing will lead the discussion along with representatives from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on October 16, 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET.
