Challenge Community Call: Weather/Emergency Response

This is the first community call for the WEATHER / EMERGENCY RESPONSE topic of the National Transportation Data Challenge: “How might we improve transportation safety in extreme weather? In cases of crises?”
During the first part of the call, we’ll have some special guest experts in this domain:
* Alicia Johnson, Resilience & Recovery Manager, San Francisco Emergency Management and West Hub Steering Committee Member, and
* Stephen Dennis, Director, Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) Data Analytics Engine.
They’ll talk about some relevant projects in progress, and share their thoughts on some of the open questions and important use cases in this area.  This will also be a good chance to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
We’ll also have some special guests from the Google Cloud Public Datasets Program attending.
In the second part of the call, we’ll give an overview of some of Google’s public data sets and tools that might be useful for this Challenge topic, and I’ll give some short demos if time permits.
A document listing some of the resources we’ll talk about in the call is at http://bit.ly/ntdc_hazard_resp.
We’ll add meeting notes to this doc after the call.
