The NSDC Institutional Chapter at the Suryodaya College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, Maharashtra aims to build an inclusive, student‑driven community for data science, AI and ML in their college. Many students from different departments want to learn these skills but lack guidance and a starting point. Through workshops, projects and mentorship. The chapter will help them learn together, work on real‑world problems and connect with the wider NSDC network, creating both technical growth and impact for our college. Their aim is to build one of the strongest AI & Data Science student communities in their network.

Chapter Activities & Projects
Objectives
This NSDC Chapter is planned to be built as an inclusive, student-driven community focused on data science, AI, and analytics. Their first activity will be an inauguration and orientation session combined with community building, introducing NSDC, its mission, this college chapter, and onboarding students from across multiple departments.
Throughout the year, they aim to conduct hands-on learning workshops covering Power BI and data analytics, data science fundamentals and machine learning basics, and an “Introduction to AI: Build Your First AI Roadmap” session to help students understand real-world applications and career paths. They also plan interactive initiatives such as an AI mystery box challenge, prompt engineering with practical exercises, and a reverse hackathon in which students first explore problems and then design solutions, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
In line with the core objectives of NSDC Chapters, their focus is on making data science and AI accessible to beginners, supporting peer learning across departments, and creating opportunities for projects and hackathons with social impact. They would like to collaborate with the broader NSDC community by:
- Using NSDC’s learning resources and contributing local workshop materials back to the community.
- Joining NSDC-organized panels, events, and challenges.
- Inviting speakers and mentors from the NSDC network for talks and virtual sessions.
- Participating in cross-chapter activities and showcasing students’ work at NSDC symposiums and on community platforms.
Through these activities and collaborations, they aspire to contribute actively to the NSDC ecosystem while giving students a strong foundation and support system in data science and AI.
