SUMMARY:Beyond Bigger: Quantum\, AI and the Future of Research Computing
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us for the upcoming ERN Quantum Webinar\, “Beyond Bigger: Quantum\, AI and the Future of Research Computing\,” featuring Travis L. Scholten\, Ph.D.\, Technical Lead for Public Sector at IBM Quantum. Hosted virtually on October 16\, 2026\, this free session brings together researchers\, educators\, and professionals to examine how the convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing is reshaping the scientific landscape. As AI drives unprecedented demand for computational resources and quantum hardware advances\, the talk explores the evolution from traditional high-performance computing (HPC) toward heterogeneous ecosystems that combine AI accelerators\, cloud resources\, supercomputers\, and emerging quantum technologies. The session introduces how future scientific breakthroughs will depend on the software\, orchestration\, and cyberinfrastructure needed to integrate these diverse computational tools\, highlighting where quantum stands today\, its future interaction with AI and HPC\, and the implications for higher education and research institutions. \nYou can view the speaker information https://travisscholten.com here – \nRegister here \nEvent Contact Information: ERN Info Desk info@ern.ci
