SUMMARY:NSCORE Kickoff Event - AI and Organismal Biology Symposium
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us to celebrate the launch of the National Synthesis Center for Organismal Resilience (NSCORE) based at Columbia University in the City of New York\, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation. To kickoff the NSCORE project\, we are hosting a one-day symposium\, in person and online on September 14\, 2026\, bringing together leaders from academia and industry to examine how AI is reshaping the study of organismal biology. The symposium introduces NSCORE’s mission: to advance our ability to explain and predict organismal resilience to change by building the AI tools and expertise needed to synthesize data across scales\, from molecules to individuals to ecosystems. Sessions will cover how scientists are using AI to dissect complex phenotypes\, and how technology and industry leaders are applying AI to the living world. \n\nYou can view the event agenda https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cqcz_Hdw8WGTHIyc-HQBlcgt5C1vAmoA/view  here –   \n \nRegister here: https://events.columbia.edu/cal/event/eventView.do?b=de&calPath=/public/special/Private&guid=CAL-00bbdb70-a0235945-01a0-24d80022-0000257eevents@columbia.edu&recurrenceId= \n\nEvent Contact Information:\nKaleigh Matthews\n8453658551\nkaleighm@ldeo.columbia.edu

SUMMARY:Beyond Bigger: Quantum\, AI and the Future of Research Computing
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us for the upcoming ERN Quantum Webinar\, “Beyond Bigger: Quantum\, AI and the Future of Research Computing\,” featuring Travis L. Scholten\, Ph.D.\, Technical Lead for Public Sector at IBM Quantum. Hosted virtually on October 16\, 2026\, this free session brings together researchers\, educators\, and professionals to examine how the convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing is reshaping the scientific landscape. As AI drives unprecedented demand for computational resources and quantum hardware advances\, the talk explores the evolution from traditional high-performance computing (HPC) toward heterogeneous ecosystems that combine AI accelerators\, cloud resources\, supercomputers\, and emerging quantum technologies. The session introduces how future scientific breakthroughs will depend on the software\, orchestration\, and cyberinfrastructure needed to integrate these diverse computational tools\, highlighting where quantum stands today\, its future interaction with AI and HPC\, and the implications for higher education and research institutions. \nYou can view the speaker information https://travisscholten.com here – \nRegister here \nEvent Contact Information: ERN Info Desk info@ern.ci
