SUMMARY:NSDC Masterclass: From Data to Decisions in Sports with Iwao Fusillo
DESCRIPTION:The National Student Data Corps (NSDC) Masterclass Video Series showcases experts who share how data science tools and techniques are being leveraged in various domains. \nThis session invites Iwao Fusillo\, the inaugural Chief Data & Analytics Officer for the New York Jets\, where he leads the organization’s data\, AI\, and machine learning strategy across both football and business operations\, to discuss his journey. He oversees a multidisciplinary team of data scientists\, application developers\, and business analysts\, and serves as a strategic advisor to the club’s executive leadership. Fusillo brings more than two decades of leadership experience transforming data and analytics into competitive advantage at iconic organizations. He previously established the NFL’s first data and analytics function for fan engagement\, sponsorship\, and media\, and held Chief Data & Analytics Officer roles at General Motors and PepsiCo. A frequent keynote speaker at industry conferences and academic institutions — including the Snowflake Summit\, Columbia Business School\, and Princeton University — Fusillo has also testified at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce AI Commission’s first public hearing. He holds a B.S.E. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton and an MBA from Columbia Business School. \nThis event is fully virtual and free for all attendees. We hope to see you there!\n\nRegister here! \nClick here to register

SUMMARY:Mathematical and Statistical Foundations for Knowledge Graph Reasoning - Online Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the “Mathematical and Statistical Foundations for Knowledge Graph Reasoning” workshop in Oaxaca\, from June 14 to June 19\, 2026. \nThis workshop will gather researchers across mathematics\, statistics\, artificial intelligence\, and data science\, working on the emerging concepts of knowledge graphs. This inherently interdisciplinary 5-day workshop will focus on the principles behind knowledge graphs and their utility in a broad range of domains\, from social to regulatory to Earth sciences. Participants will have the opportunity to (i) gain deeper insights into cutting-edge research and methodologies for developing and deploying computational models in knowledge graph reasoning\, (ii) establish interdisciplinary collaborations across academia\, industry and federal agencies to accelerate knowledge discovery and knowledge synthesis\, and (iii) contribute to advancing novel mathematical and statistical foundations at the nexus of knowledge graphs and artificial intelligence. Florence Hudson\, Executive Director of the Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub\, will be presenting on Wednesday\, June 17\, 2026 at 1:20-2pm ET (11:20am-12pm in Oaxaca\, Mexico). \nThe Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico\, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff\, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas\, knowledge\, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences\, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)\, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and Alberta Technology and Innovation. The research station in Oaxaca is funded by UNAM and IIMAS. \n  \nOrganizers\nYuzhou Chen (University of California\, Riverside) \nIvor Cribben (University of Alberta) \nYulia R. Gel (Virginia Tech) \nJennifer Wei (NASA)

SUMMARY:The Road to 2030 and Beyond - UN SDGs and AI with Florence Hudson and Arthur G.O. Mutambara
DESCRIPTION:The Road to 2030 and Beyond – UN SDGs and AI\nFlorence Hudson and Arthur G.O. Mutambara\nJoin us on Wednesday\, July 8\, 2026 at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM (EDT) for a discussion with NEBDHub Executive Director Florence Hudson from The Data Science Institute at Columbia University and Professor Dr. Eng. Arthur G.O. Mutambara who is Director and Full Professor at the University of Johannesburg’s Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK) in South Africa. The topic is “The Road to 2030 and Beyond – the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and Artificial Intelligence”. We will discuss the power and promise of the UN SDGs\, and how we can meet the promise and continue the momentum into the future. This will include the impact of technology such as AI\, as well as pandemics and other challenges in our path. We must learn from the past to optimize the future. \n\n\n\nThis webinar is hosted by Springer Nature’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Programme which aims to connect the researchers who are tackling the world’s toughest challenges with the practitioners in policy and business who desperately need those insights to achieve their goals in improving the world\, by making our publishing activities more visible to our key communities through a variety of channels. \nSpringer Nature has partnered with Cassyni to create a connected ecosystem of online webinars to help academics\, authors\, and journals learn and maximize their impact in a green and inclusive way. Most sessions will be recorded for on demand viewing with citable content that is freely accessible and fully researchable.
