Purdue Big Data Training for Cancer Research: Machine Learning in Diagnostic Imaging

This webinar will be presented by Dr. Constantine Gatsonis, founding Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and the Center for Statistical Sciences at the Brown University School of Public Health. Dr. Gatsonis is a global leader in the evaluation of diagnostic and screening tests in medicine and is currently developing methods for Comparative Effectiveness Research in radiomics, the quantitative analysis of imaging via machine learning methods. This lecture will provide an overview of radiomics from the statistical perspective, drawing examples from recently published and ongoing research, and examine the challenges in clinically evaluating new imaging-based markers.
